Beginning in January of 2006, Table Games informed dealers that you
would have to use your Vacation Days when you called in sick with
Intermittent Leave. But this was solely at their discretion! Some
dealers have been forced to use Vacation Days for being sick.
Unless, of course, that Intermittent sick day is also during a
Management designated Peak Weekend! You don't get paid for
those days!
How many "Peak
Weekends" do we have?? The Culinary Union has TWO a year!
Your Shift Boss gets to decide how you spend your vacation tokes.
Here’s a question. When FMLA was passed through Congress and was
enacted on February 5, 1993, did Congress really think that
Corporations would be forcing employees to use their paid vacation
days for illnesses?
We
find it difficult to believe that this was their intent.
We
do find it quite typical on how Table Games manages their dealers.
We
have a problem with them dictating our tokes and when we will get
them. This is NOT their money to do with as they please.
If
memory is correct, and we believe it is, the Dealers of the Mirage
never voted in SICK TOKES which is essentially what Table Games has
decided is a good use of our Vacation Tokes in regards to FMLA
status.
