The Mirage required that we take an online Health Assessment.
They bribed us to take it by reducing our Medical Insurance Premium
for the next year.
The Shift Manager made a point to tell the Dealers at the weekly
meeting, that any of our health issues would determine a new premium
deducted from our paycheck.
One dealer decided to find out who has access to this very private
information.
This is a perfect assessment of an invasion of privacy!

"Spent the morning on the phone,first called are insurance company
number from the back of my health card .Talked to a very nice lady
who said Wausau and Fiser have nothing to do with the online
assessments and will gain no information from them.then she
suggested I call human resources at the mirage so that is what I did
the pbx operator asked who I wanted in human resources said I was
not sure but needed info on the online assessment she just happened
to have the mirage minute with the 866# in front of her.so I called
talked to another very nice lady to whom I asked who would be
getting the information we provide for the online assessment she
said she had no idea but thought it was the insurance company I
informed her I had just spoken with insurance and they said not
us.oh well she just helps people through the assessment.but said she
could connect me to the main MGM mirage benefits department.
Well here is where it get's interesting I asked who has the access
to our private information well MGM mirage has access ,hmmmm well is
that not against the insurance portability act.Oh no she replied
because we are not forcing you to give the info it is voluntary I
told her it did not seem very voluntary to me when we are
essentially being blackmailed with higher rates if we do not
complete the assessment.then I reiterated the privacy factor and
asked just who is looking at my private information well then I was
put on hold .when she returned to the phone she informed me that MGM
MIRAGE has NO access to the information HMMMMM. I so hate to sound
like an idiot again but again I ask well then who does?Now here is
the funny part... NOBODY has access.Oh my god I am going to fall off
my chair .I ask then why the heck are we doing this? it is for our
OWN benefit no person will ever see your information.Then I asked
well then who is doing the ratings and who owns the healthy living
web site?she told me the company who is responsible for the web site
is MATRINA.Well People I tried I gave it my best shot. since nobody
will ever see your assessment I think we should put in all the
numbers we wish we had and see who can get to 100 first. "
