Favoritism
is alive and well at the Mirage.
Some dealers must know at least 3
games, others only 2, and yes, there are those special few who only need
to know how to deal the double deck BJ. Oh, but there are plenty of
dealers who would love to learn games they don't know. If you are lucky
enough to be favored, you can spend 3 or 4 days dealing a new game with
a "shadow" but if not you’re not a favorite, you will be told to spend
your break time learning your new game.
Should we be lucky enough to
have the opportunity to negotiate a contract, clear cut rules for
management regarding how many games a dealer should know should be
instituted so that every time some new goofy poker game hit's the casino
floor it is not the same unfortunate dealers who are told they must
learn yet again another Carnival Game.
