Things to consider about
ongoing contract negotiations for both the Wynn and Caesars Palace
Dealers:
~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Contract negotiations are NOT "open to the public" and are being
done by the companies involved and the "Negotiating Committees"
(dealers) which were elected by the members of the bargaining unit
(dealers) involved.
2. The TWU is providing assistance in the negotiations process and
has International Representatives directly involved in the process
(paid for through the Union dues of TWU dues-paying members). These
Reps have decades of experience negotiating 100's of contracts and
are very reliable and efficient.
3. It is the dealers who are providing the "proposals" to the
companies, but the TWU and their counsel are providing the needed
guidance to those dealers.
4. There are "limitations" agreed upon by both sides concerning the
information which can be provided to the "public", therefore exact
"details" may not be available until the contract proposals are
agreed upon by BOTH the Companies involved and the Negotiating
Committees and are ready to be submitted to the bargaining unit for
ratification approval).
5. Progress IS being made. First contracts take a considerable
amount of time to draft and be agreed upon by BOTH sides. Schedules
of many individuals involved, who have other professional
responsibilities, must be coordinated thus limiting the frequency of
meetings.
6. IF any negotiation is "stalled", it will be posted on the
TWU Bulletin Board and on the pages linked to the negotiation
effort involved. If it is not announced there that there is a
"stall", then there is none.
7. Want the TRUTH on the current negotiations, then check THE
FORUM and do NOT listen to "false rumors" which may be
circulated by those who are against dealers organizing for their
rights.
8. NO Bargaining Unit Member will EVER be asked to pay ANY Union
Dues until they ratify a contract.
